Journeying through the Torah

8 Aug

I’m currently enjoying reading this book whilst on holiday. It was one on Rob Bell’s recommended reading list so I thought I’d give it a shot to enhance my bigger picture understanding of the OT and especially the Torah. I’m taking it steady as disturbed nights etc are taking their toll on how much reading I get through.

My notes about the things that stand out so far are:

– The struggle that Israel went through and the perserverance that they had to show to inherit the promised land

– The building of and the importance of wells

– The many different coats that Joseph inherited that mark his journey.

– How Joseph’s life mirrors the larger picture of the 5 books of Moses.

This book is currently stopping me from making a start on Mark Yaconelli’s latest book that I blogged about a while back.
